Mosquitos are known to be some of the most irritating insects during the spring and summer time as it seems like their bites are one of the most annoying feelings that can be experienced by a human. As we’ve all been bitten by a mosquito at least a few times in our lives, it’s good to know that there are always a couple of remedies that can be used in order to cure the itch caused by a bite. However, it is important to remember that no technique can cure the itching right away, but some are known to be effective within the last couple of minutes.
1. Think about your initial response
Chances are that we may not notice that a mosquito has bitten us until the itching appears, but whether we catch the insect live at action or not, an initial response to the itching has to be applied.
With this in mind a good idea to try out before anything else may be to stop yourself from scratching the bite as the only thing that interfering with it in such a way can do is to further aggravate it while also raising the risk for an infection to take place. Instead, clean the bite with alcohol or water. Antiseptic may also be used to ease of the itching caused by a mosquito at first.
2. Decide which approach is best based on the tips offered
After an initial response is given to the bite and the skin around it, there are a number of tips which can be taken into account in order to relieve some of the pain and fasten the healing process of the insect bite. Doing so can greatly increase the chances of the bites to be healed a lot faster.
Vinegar is widely known for its healing abilities all around the world. If you’re lucky enough to have some in your house, quickly soak a cotton ball with some and apply it to the bite. This should stop the itching and start the healing process of the bite. Another tip which can be used to get rid of these bites may be to use fruit juice. As citric acid is known to have some properties related to itch removal, a good idea may be to cut a lemon or lime and to rub it gently across all of the bites on your skin.
An approach using substances such as medicine can also be taken in the case that the itching is severe. Applying water to an aspirin tablet and rubbing on the bite site is known to cancel a lot of the pain. Additionally, anyone who has been bitten by a mosquito can also try to apply toothpaste to the bite, as applying non-gel tooth paste to your skin and letting it dry overnight can quickly remove irritation.
3.Better safe than sorry
Mosquitos have been widely known for the diseases they can carry based on the area of the world that you are residing in. Therefore, a smart thing to do is to try and prevent mosquito bites from happening. In order to do so, many mosquito repellents are available on the market which can be purchased and used to keep these insects out of your house or away from your skin in the case that you are outside.
