That phase of life when your child is just a toddler is something you only find fit for sweet memories sometimes when actually going through it can be a real challenge. Kids cannot be expected to occupy and entertain themselves.
What to do?
You need to find out something enjoyable for the kid to do so that you can have some time to yourself and work as well. Here are some simple tips for keeping children busy:
1. Paint water books
This still exists and you can find your toddler one. This will surely keep any child occupied and happy. This is the least messy yet the most interesting pastime for many adults too!
2. Solve puzzles
Make your child solve those cartoon board piece puzzles. This will not only ensure that they are having a good time, but also help in quicker brain development.
3. Blocks
Let your child spend as much time as they want with building blocks and Lego. This teaches them patience, the spirit of never giving up, and of course, helps the child solve similar games soon and by the time.
4. Tweezers, pompoms
The various colors and shapes will ensure that your child will not cry for help or company in at least 20 minutes!
5. Egg cartons
Stuff miniature trinkets in the eggs for the playful noise that keeps your child engrossed.
6. Magnetic magazine face making
This is interesting and rearranging faces on a magnetic surface is kind of a unique thing to do.
7. Lacing boards
You can either buy them or make your own out of cereal boxes and punch holes in them to let the toddler practice tying shoelaces. This is one of the most practical pastimes for toddlers.
8. Glittering soda bottle
Add glitter, oil and water to the soda water bottle you bring to entertain your child. You can shake it up for the noise, roll it down the room but make sure that the mouth of the container is glued.
9. Sketching or painting on walls
Leave your toddler with some washable paint in any room you want and you will come back to see a different room.
10.Sorting and storing
Get your child to sort things like colored pasta to nuts and bolts. This could even get him into the habit of being organized from a very young age.
11. Scavenger hunt
You can play with your child without having to move a bit. Play scavenger hunt with your child and don’t be surprised if your toddler manages to find everything. You can modify this game into a magazine scavenger hunt so that there is no need to take the pains of hide treasures all around the house. You can take a nap while your kid is busy finding it.
12. Play dough
Let your child make any shape with all the colorful play dough.
13. Button snake
Make snake toys for your toddler by with the help of ribbons and buttons.
There are many more things you can do to keep your toddler busy as children are not so difficult to handle after all. What you need is a little creativity with a little hard work to set up everything that will keep your child busy for days.
