We normally associate ourselves in a very positive aspect with a rose. Yes, and why not, it has a beautiful scent to offer through its striking red petals, it blooms out from its bud like a little caterpillar to a magnificent butterfly. But that is; when we don’t look at it completely. Or maybe we don’t want to look at it. In fact, we never want to see the harsh realities that come our way with all the creams of life. There may be ups and downs, there may be highs and lows, but one thing that remains constant, is change. One who lives with an intention to adapt accordingly, does not only survive, but also live a better life.
Love yourself and what you do
Every person in this world is unique and everyone has their own speciality. It’s just a matter of discovering the flair inside. While some do it themselves, others need support to boost their self-belief. However, the thing in common between them is that they love themselves and their work, more than anything else. The biggest obstacle between” what you want to do” and “what you are doing now” is the same old story you keep telling yourself time and again, only to end up with no conclusion. Every time you desire to express yourself, something stops you in the way and reverts you back to your monotonous life. You need to break away from this jinx and come out of the shell you have fallen unto. Do things to please yourself, and admire your efforts even if no one cares. If you don’t start believing in yourself, don’t expect the others to do the same.
Engage in new activities
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” You must have heard this proverb in your school days, without thinking much about how this may become a reality some day. You may have the capacity to make your brain work like anything, but that can never compliment the cravings of your heart. Engaging in new activities allow you to carry the positive momentum into your daily life, which in turn makes it more meaningful and exciting. These activities can include anything like sports, photography, reading, blog writing, adventure or any pastime that freshens up your mood. Sitting in front of TV or a computer after a long days work isn’t going to help you make your life any better. Wake up the child inside you and enjoy doing things the way you did in your childhood days. If you have your own children, engage with them, make them feel important, and you are sure to get a good response in return. The more you keep stressing yourself for a bad day at the office, the more you will have those bad days in future too. So stop cursing your life for every little thing and start enjoying every bit of it by trying new stuffs, time and again.
Live in the present
If there’s anything we could have done to change the past, life would have been so much better. Or who knows. Maybe a chaos? We keep kicking ourselves to have experienced or done something undesirable in the past, which haunts us back as a bad memory. We live with a pain that should have never existed, had we been strong against the circumstances. But instead, we keep on hurting ourselves with a chain of negative thoughts that have to do nothing with the present we live in. What’s gone is past, what’s ahead is future, but the most important thing that you have in hand right now is the “Present”. Each “today” that you make good would be a memorable “yesterday” tomorrow. Stop looking for changes in things and start introducing one in yourself. A man cannot change the world, but he is the only one who can change himself. As long as you keep living in the past, don’t expect your life to flip the other side.
Give up your ego
The word “Ego” is powerful enough to ruin anyone’s life, but the same is toothless without your consent. It takes birth within us and grows like an evil, only to be a monster in our lives. No one’s asking you to prove a point every now and then. It is you who originate such thoughts, since you fear being judged by people. We all want to be the best, but certainly not at the cost of our peaceful life. Successful people never take things on their ego, since they know how to silence their critics by their work. Once you fall into a game of vengeance with others, you will find yourself lost in a maze. Sometimes, it’s better not to care what people say, especially those who don’t matter to you. Some people will judge you anyways and there’s no point in doing things to please them. The more you try to content yourself, the happier you will be in the long term. So, instead of being an egoistic person, be a fantastic one.
Give yourself a break
“12 years of school, 3-4 years of college and then work until you die” Life is tough. Isn’t it? Yes, it is. However, some people still manage to stay calm in challenging environments. The question is how? We spend half of our energy doing something that is not worth our time and this cycle continues lifelong for many people out there. We tend to handle the worldly affairs with ease, but never take out time for ourselves. We are always in a hurry to get things done, but never realize how we lose ourselves in the process. We provide services to others, but incapable of doing anything for our good. The amount of stress keeps piling up every day and we are found stuck in a middle of sea with no hope of reaching the island. It’s time to give yourself a break. Even machines are turned off when not in use, then why not a person can switch off the stress-mode. When at work, give yourself a coffee break to warm up for another hour of work and never let your weekends go in vain, especially when you have family and friends around. Keep the flow of positivity intact and block all the negative forces.
Keep interacting
Don’t be a shy person when it comes to interacting with people in your society or at your workplace. The more you keep yourself isolated from others, the more you will find it difficult to cope up with the environment. Make your own choices, get into a group of like minded people and always get involved in things, no matter what. Loneliness gives birth to negative thoughts, which in turn adds up to the already existing issues in life. And if you are not fond of making friends with people, get yourself a pet animal. The biggest advantage to this is that, they listen to you without replying back.
At the end of the day, there is only person who can make your life better immediately. It’s you! Be nice to others and even nicer to yourself. If you don’t love and respect yourself, people around you will not have a reason to reflect the same.
