You have been designed to enjoy life. All humans have been. Many do not feel as if they deserve to have all of the happiness life has to offer. If you find yourself feeling this way, you do not have to suffer through it. Use these seven tips to be deliciously happy with your life.
Play Whenever You Can
As you grow older, you start to forget how to enjoy life just by playing. Find ways to play around in your life, and do them as often as you can. This can be something as simple as chasing your daughter through the house after she playfully pinches your arm.
Enjoy the Quiet of Life
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is just sit back and enjoy the silence surrounding you. Get in touch with your inner self, and have a monologue with your own thoughts. Learn to be happy just being with yourself, and it will make your life happier.
Accept Yourself
Learn to be okay with yourself. Every shortcoming that you have can be seen as a gift if used in the right situation. If you start to feel happy with yourself, your life will be happier. People who learn to accept who they are find a happiness in life they did not realize was missing. Once you accept yourself, you will notice the unlimited instead of the impossible.
Stop Looking for the Approval of Others
You do not need the validation of others to be happy. Parents, family, friends, teachers, and plenty of other people will tell you what you need to do to be happy. It is important to realize that the advice given by these people are things that made them happy. Every person is different, which means that your path to happiness is unique. Do not try to be happy by trying to please others.
Keep Active
Physical activity releases endorphins, and endorphins are the chemicals released into your brain that make you feel better. Whatever the activity may be, try to work it in every day so that you continue to have those endorphins released in your brain. They will make you feel happier, and in turn, you will find activities that make you happy.
Be Forgiving
Holding onto the bad will only bring you down. So do what you can to let it go, and move on. Cling to the happy moments, and look back on them with fondness. It will actually make you happier just thinking about past happy moments.
Avoid Drama
Stop focusing your self-worth on the attention you get from others. You will never be happy if you always need to have someone around filling the holes in your self. Instead of expecting someone else to fix you, fix yourself. You will be happier in the long run without having to depend on others to fix you.
