Put your sample work in such opportunities and wait for what the others have to say. You can even search for short story writer jobs that can be seen on job offering websites. Such offers might not pay you well but they provide you with a good platform for the start. Moreover, if you get small jobs, you are able to get paid for your work and learn new things from personal experiences. Film industry is vast and there are a lot of things that happen in there. Therefore, it is essential for you to get a clear picture about where you are wishing or dreaming of entering into.

6. Find an agent for yourself:

   An agent is a third party who acts as a mediator between you and the ones who are looking forward to have scripts. Without someone who knows in and out about the industry, it is impossible for you to find a place for yourself. An agent helps you get recognition that you deserve, by making you meet a few producers or directors who are looking forward to have new ideas or stories.

7. Keep on writing:

   Screenwriting is not a onetime thing and thus it is necessary for you to understand that you can’t leave it, once you have taken the step to enter into the industry. It doesn’t matter if your script has been accepted, approved, published, created into a movie or not. All that matters is that you need to keep on writing something or the other so that your ideas are developed into solid baselines on which new stories can be generated.

Make sure that you have your stories copyrighted. Moreover, once you have entered the industry, remember to enroll yourself in the Writer’s Association, which is present to help the writers of the media industry. You might have to give them some proofs of being a writer but after clearing the formalities, you get your own Identity Card as a screenwriter.
