A human brain is like a store room, where we store memories in the hippocampus part of the same. However, this area needs grooming from time to time, or else it may lose the ability to stock things up for long enough. De-stress yourself
Too much of stress induces production of cortisol hormones, which affect the memory part of your brain, disabling you to remember anything old or new. Break the shackles and fight yourself out of the pressure-zone and you can do that easily by indulging in activities that make you feel good. Although, make sure you never get into a fight with your wife, even if you enjoy it!
Take a break
Just like a machine stops working after being kept inactive for a long time, the mind also responds back the same way when it is choked to monotony. It’s time to pick yourself up from that chair and get some fresh natural air to kiss your face. This will create an uplifting sensation on the brain, as more blood gushes to the same. Studies have revealed that a person who is physically active, is bound to have a good memory.
Visualize things
As compared to the text, a picture creates a better impression on the mind, which remains for a longer period of time. It’s too easy to forget a mugged up content, but visual recall takes time to fade away. Turn all your assignments into a graphical or pictorial respresentation, so that you can form the images altogether when required. Use the power of your imagination to blend creativity with your daily tasks and see how it commits to the memory easily.
Concentrate
There’s a very thin line between the short term and the long term memory, and that is the line of concentration we all fail to focus on. Few seconds of mindfulness can make a huge impact on what you listen, study or observe. The only reason why you haven’t been good at committing things to your brain till now, is probably because of the lack of interest from your side. Eliminating all the distractions from your workplace or the study room is sure to pile up your ability to pay more attention to imperative affairs, than the secondary ones.
Sleep on time
“Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. This used to be one of the most repeated verses in our childhood days, and still remains to be a tangible fact. The concept is simple; if you don’t give respite to your brain, why will it give you something in return? The more you keep yourself awake at night, the more your memory will turn blunt, and at times, it may go completely blank. A healthy sleeping habit doesn’t mean sleeping late at night and waking up late, too. That is sure to make you feel lethargic for the proceedings in the following day and this continues as a chain forever. Reschedule your affairs to fit in the daylight and let the night take care of your exhausted mind.
Amid a hectic schedule, it’s difficult to manage everything the way you want to, but sometimes having a routine layout for the daily affairs makes it easier for the mind to remember the priorities at hand.
