It can be difficult to brain-storm and bring forth unique fundraising ideas. The event has to be attractive and joyous, hence run-of-the-mill ideas shouldn’t be thought of. To begin with the same, have a word with close friends and family, and form a committee with their help. A committee brings about many light-bulb moments, contacts and you never know where bounty strikes! Here are a few examples which can be thought off; please read on and be well-informed for the same.
Gift certificates for ‘Brides to be’
Brides especially look online for ‘freebies’ they could use for their wedding. The committee could thus bank on this trend and provide ‘brides-to-be’ with gift vouchers, matching what they need. Place a registration fee with a minimum charge and set up a ‘competition’; unique and catchy. For example, ask brides-to-be for a talent or skill related to saving money on weddings. Everyone wants to be heard and seen, and this would be a nice platform for them to showcase their skills and win something too.
Spinsters Time Out
The team could have a ‘spinsters party’ organised. Bring in good food, champagne and nice music. Throw in spa treatments, a tarot reading session, have an auction on bridal wear and accessories too. The plan is to have potential bidders sending in ideas for their wedding, shopping for items they see and increase revenue on the table. Place a token fee for entry and ‘Bridezilla’ would happen, raking in the coffers at the same time.
Washing a windshield day
Teenagers have a lot of time when the summer holidays are on, rope them in to bring in the funds. Coordinate with one of the local drive-in’s and ask for permission to have the fundraising done at their location. Let the teenagers take charge of washing the windshields of cars as they drive-in. for every windshield washed a token charge would be taken. Once the job is done, the teenager collects the money and puts it into the donation box.
Upcycle and recycle
Teach your little ones at home and school to leave lesser carbon footprints behind, and do that the fun way. This would also be a great way to raise funds for a cause as well. Old shoe boxes, cans and tins can be painted and customized into beautiful jars, vases and containers. Get in touch with the local recyclers for old items and teach the little ones how to give them a new touch. Organize a garage sale or a mini-carnival in the neighborhood. For every item sold, a little goes to the child-artist and the rest can be used for fundraising purposes.
Pet and kiss a farm animal
Senior citizens too can be of great help in raising funds, and they have plenty of time in hand. The idea is to have a mini-petting fundraising event, which no one would object to. Have farm animals such as goats, ponies, turtles, piglets, sheep and cows at the petting farm. Invite the neighborhood over and name the day something special. Focus on giving out smiles for the senior citizens; the noble thought would attract a crowd. Families would pour in with their children, and they could be charged an entry fee, which can be used as a donation.
The ideas above are simple but unique, and can produce great results if employed wisely. Good luck in the fundraising venture, while doing so, remember to have all the fun you can!
